Emotion and Intensity.
For three years now I have been able to make music by experimenting with different styles and sounds. However, in these three years I felt that my songs were truly missing something (aside from lack of proper engineering). Each song felt empty and rushed. So I realized that I was missing "me" in my music. I was not putting my own emotions or any sort of attachments to my music.
So that is why I made OXYTOCIN. The album is a complex range of emotions putting together a story that was never told - the journey to obtain inexplicable joy. It is a movie of one man's pursuit for a love like no other. It is a picture of vibrant colors.
Music is now going to tell the stories that words can't; it is going to reach more people on different emotional levels without words being uttered at all. That is truly the sound of tomorrow.
Oxytocin was a journey. I really hope that I conveyed that journey to all of you. I mean it is an album that you can listen to in your cars, at home, studying, cuddling, etc. But, my project is more than a mixtape or album; it is one person's struggle to finally figure things out. It was my struggle to find joy in all the madness; to enjoy something when days seemed dark and gray.
I am still figuring out how I am going to transition to a new life in a new city at a new University, but I know that I am in great hands and that I have a group of people there to support me 100% of the way. So whether you are still confused, figuring things out, questioning everything, gay, straight, trans, queer, stressed, sad, happy, black, white, blue, indigo; whether you're an artist or an observer, musician or listener, whatever, you can find yourself in all the madness and noise by surrounding yourself with people willing to support you all the way.
So, this is my project. This is my painting. This is my movie. This is me and one of my last hoorah's. This is - OXYTOCIN.
